Matt, the passionate founder of Salty Vets BBQ, is an unwavering advocate for the art of smoking meat and the pursuit of unparalleled taste. With an unmatched dedication to perfecting the craft, he has honed his skills by working alongside renowned BBQ experts, incorporating their styles and techniques into his own. Matt’s commitment to service and his exceptional work ethic are evident in every mouthwatering bite that comes off the grill. As a veteran of the US Army National Guard, serving with the 28th ID, 56th SBCT, and 1/111th INF (Associators), Matt embodies the values of teamwork, discipline, and excellence. His passion for BBQ and his devotion to serving others make him a driving force behind Salty Vets BBQ’s success.
Mike (Co-owner):
Mike channels an commitment to excellence, stemming from his love for the culinary craft. His determination and meticulous approach permeate every aspect of Salty Vets BBQ, ensuring top-tier quality. With an honorable service record of three combat deployments in Marjah, Afghanistan, Mike showcased valor while serving with the distinguished Fox and Echo companies within the 2nd Battalion, 9th Marines. Driven by a passion to support fellow veterans and champion mental health initiatives, he envisions the company expanding as a catalyst for positive change.
